No shocking result in a game in La Palma where fifth ranked Tenerife Naut. (16-9) defeated 11th ranked Santa Cruz (6-19) 78-64 on Sunday. Tenerife Naut. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Cruz's 26. Forward Javier Herreros (198-1994) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and Jorge Del Pino (194-1996) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Turkish forward Erkam Kiris (203-1998, college: Davis & Elkins) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and forward Joel Juarez (196-2002, agency: BIG) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tenerife Naut. have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Santa Cruz lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 19 games lost.
