Regular Season Round 28: Psychikou - Maroussi 83-74

Round 28 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Maroussi (19-9). They were defeated by second ranked Psychikou (20-8) 83-74 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maroussi. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Ronaldo Segu (183-1999, college: Buffalo) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Georgios Koukas (179-1985) who added 19 points during the contest. Four Psychikou players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Nikolaos Kamarianos (204-1997) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Orfeas Stasinos (183-1988) scored 9 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Psychikou have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Maroussi at the other side dropped to the second place with nine games lost. They share the position with Iraklis. They were replaced at the leadership position by Psychikou. Just two games before the end of Regular Season and it may be the most important game of the season next round when Maroussi faces strong AO Triton trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens - AO Triton. Psychikou will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Iraklis in Thessaloniki.
