Regular Season Round 27: La Solana - Alcala 76-77

There was no surprise when 12th ranked La Solana (6-19) was edged at home by seventh ranked Alcala (15-10) 77-76 on Saturday. Alcala looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for forward Daniel Manzanero (197-1994) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. American forward Sean Harris (201-1989, college: Utah St.) helped adding 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Alcala players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Dominican guard Sdenry Gonzalez (187-2002) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Mario Garcia produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. La Solana's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alcala maintains seventh place with 15-10 record. Newly promoted La Solana keeps the twelfth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Santa Cruz and Pinto Basket. Alcala will meet at home Estudio (#11) in the next round. La Solana will play against Majadahonda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
