Second Stage Round 9: Den Bosch - Limburg 92-88

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Dutch Den Bosch (2-7) defeated at home 7th ranked Belgian Limburg United (3-8) 92-88 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American forward Donte Thomas (201-1996, college: Bradley) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Austin Price (193-1995, college: Lehigh) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Five Den Bosch players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Alex Stein (191-1997, college: S.Indiana) who recorded 24 points and 6 assists and center Toon Ceyssens (205-1997) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending Dutch champion moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Den Helder. Loser Limburg United keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Den Bosch will meet higher ranked Spirou Charleroi (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Limburg United will play against the league's second-placed Liege Basket where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
