Regular Season Round 31: Limoges CSP - Strasbourg 84-78

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Strasbourg (16-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked Limoges CSP (24-7) 84-78 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Limoges CSP dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Strasbourg's 28. They outrebounded Strasbourg 49-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. Limoges CSP looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Hugo Desseignet (175-2003) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 15 assists. Mali forward Mohamed Sidibe (196-2002) helped adding 8 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Limoges CSP's coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side guard Illan Pietrus (187-2005) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and British forward Michael Belle (200-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Four Strasbourg players scored in double figures. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Limoges CSP. They moved-up to second place, which they share with ASVEL. Loser Strasbourg keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Limoges CSP will meet ASVEL (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Strasbourg will play against Nanterre (#13) and hope to secure a win.
