Very expected game when 17th ranked Le Portel (3-27) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Fos-Provence (13-18) 78-62 on Saturday. Fos-Provence forced 19 Le Portel turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for forward Willian Marie-Anais (201-2004) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Guinean forward Ousmane Kaba (195-2002) helped adding 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Fos-Provence players scored in double figures. At the losing side Cameron Valcy (192-2003) responded with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Kenny Kasiama (206-2003) scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Le Portel's coach Kevin Poinsot tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Fos-Provence moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Monaco. Le Portel lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 27 games lost. Fos-Provence will meet at home league's leader Cholet in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Le Portel will play against Le Mans (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
