Very expected game when 14th ranked Reggio Emilia (10-19) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Sassari (17-12) 89-77 on Sunday. Sassari made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. American point guard Chris Dowe (189-1991, college: Bellarmine, agency: GoEmpire Group) stepped up and scored 28 points and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import Jamal Jones (203-1993, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Andrea Cinciarini (191-1986) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 assists and Latvian Arturs Strautins (201-1998) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
