It looked good early as Thor Thorl took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Valur had a 37-15 second period charge getting the lead and Thor Thorl was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 94-103. Valur made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Thor Thorl 46-25 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Valur players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Kristofer Acox (198-1993, college: Furman) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds. Argentinian-Italian Pablo Bertone (190-1990, college: FAU, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. International swingman Styrmir Thrastarson (200-2001, college: Davidson, agency: Blacktop Management) replied with 32 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American point guard Vinnie Shahid (180-1998, college: NDSU) added 21 points and 9 assists in the effort for Thor Thorl. Five Valur and four Thor Thorl players scored in double figures.
