There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Pozzuoli (2-27) beat at home higher ranked Teramo (11-18) 78-72 on Sunday. They outrebounded Teramo 39-24 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pozzuoli looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Teramo's players. Naturalized Senegalese center Iba Koite Thiam (205-1998, agency: Players Group) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and Montenegrin power forward Fatih Mehmedovic (205-2000, agency: SLN) chipped in 24 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Federico Casoni (201-1997) responded with 23 points and guard Lorenzo Calbini (185-2003) scored 12 points. Four Teramo players scored in double figures. Teramo's coach Andrea Gabrielli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pozzuoli maintains sixteenth place with 2-27 record.
