There was no surprise in Castellon where 12th ranked Almansa (11-21) was defeated by tenth ranked Castello (16-16) 81-67 on Friday. The best player for the winners was Swedish forward David Hook (197-1999, college: E.Wyoming) who scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Eric Stutz (203-1992, college: EKU) chipped in 15 points. Austrian Marvin Ogunsipe (203-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian-Italian guard Mateo Diaz (186-2002) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Castello maintains tenth position with 16-16 record. Loser Almansa dropped to the thirteenth place with 21 games lost. Castello will meet Oviedo (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Almansa will play against Cantabria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
