Lyon dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Flammes' 24. They outrebounded Flammes 46-23 including a 40-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lyon looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Flammes' players. The former international center Helena Ciak (197-1989) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Alexia Chartereau (189-1998) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Four Lyon players scored in double figures. Lyon's coach David Gautier felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spanish center Umo Diallo (192-1998) responded with 9 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian guard Shaylisha Colley (173-1996, college: Michigan St., agency: Basket Promotion Agency) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds.
