Very expected game in Istanbul where 11th ranked Socar Petkim (12-18) was defeated by second ranked Fenerbahce (24-6) 101-96 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Johnathan Motley (208-1995, college: Baylor) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Carsen Edwards (185-1998, college: Purdue) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Fenerbahce's coach Dimitris Itoudis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Canadian-Haitian point guard Kenny Chery (180-1992, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) produced 27 points and 4 assists and American Phil Booth (190-1995, college: Villanova) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Fenerbahce and five Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second place with 24-6 record behind leader Turk Telekom. Socar Petkim at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 18 games lost. They share it with Manisa.
