Mersin used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Ankara 109-87 on Saturday night. Mersin shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Hazer Avci (206-1987) fired 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American point guard Garrett Sim (188-1990, college: Oregon, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 27 points and 4 assists. Five Mersin players scored in double figures. American forward Marcus Weathers (196-1997, college: SMU) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) and the other American import point guard Kyan Anderson (180-1992, college: TCU) added 27 points and 9 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mersin will meet Konyaspor on the road in the next round. Ankaragucu will play against Igdir and hope to win that game.
