There was a minor upset when Novy Jicin was defeated at home by Ostrava 84-76 on Friday. Ostrava made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was center Jan Vorac (200-2000) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Guard David Jakel (186-1999) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Ostrava players scored in double figures. The former international center Vaclav Bujnoch (200-1993, college: Des Moines A.) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Matyas Janu (179-2002) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Ostrava will meet at home Zlin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Novy Jicin will play against Opava 2010 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
