Regular Season Round 2: Roanne - Nancy 107-80
Date: September 23, 2023
There was a minor upset when Sluc Nancy was smashed on the road by Chorale de Roanne 107-80 on Saturday. Chorale de Roanne outrebounded Sluc Nancy 35-19 including 22 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Chorale de Roanne looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international power forward Yannis Morin (208-1993) notched 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Tavian Dunn-Martin (173-1998, college: FGCU) supported him with 17 points and 5 assists. Even 17 points by Nigerian-American guard Ike Nwamu (194-1993, college: UNLV) did not help to save the game for Sluc Nancy. American point guard Frank Mason III (180-1994, college: Kansas) added 15 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chorale de Roanne will meet JSF Nanterre on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Sluc Nancy will play against JDA Dijon and hope to win that game.
