Groningen used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Den Bosch 74-63 on Saturday night. American forward Theo John (206-1998, college: Duke) nailed 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward John Meeks (198-1999, college: Charleston) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. Center Thomas van der Mars (208-1990, college: Portland) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and American guard D.J. Fenner (198-1993, college: Nevada) added 15 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) respectively for Den Bosch in the defeat. Groningen will meet Feyenoord in the next round. Den Bosch will have a break next round.
