Regular Season Round 2: Loewen - ETB Miners 68-66

There was a surprise result when Loewen edged ETB Miners in Herten 68-66 on Saturday. Strangely ETB Miners outrebounded Loewen 42-29 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Jamal Wright (179-1997, college: High Point) notched 19 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Italian Dario Fiorentino (206-1986) supported him with 16 points. Four Loewen players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by American point guard Bryant Allen (183-1990, college: Dakota St.) did not help to save the game for ETB Miners. Montenegrin center Dzemal Selimovic (205-1999) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. ETB Miners' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Loewen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ETB Miners will play against Koeln DTV and hope to secure a win.
