Regular Season Round 1: Slavia - Srsni Pisek 115-112

Slavia used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Pisek 115-112 on Saturday night. Slavia shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. American forward Lesley Varner Jr (201-1998, college: UTRGV, agency: Helping Ballers) stepped up and scored 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import Alexander Thompson (203-1995, college: Samford) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side center Martin Svoboda (202-2001) responded with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and guard Vojtech Sykora (189-2001) scored 5 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Slavia and four Sokol Pisek players scored in double figures. Sokol Pisek's coach Jan Cech tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Slavia will meet Nymburk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sokol Pisek will play against USK Praha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
