Regular Season Round 2: Le Havre - Besancon 98-92

There was a minor upset when Besancon was defeated on the road by STB Le Havre 98-92 on Tuesday. STB Le Havre forced 19 Besancon turnovers and outrebounded them 44-21 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Power forward Mickael Var (206-1990, agency: BIG) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Damien Nseke Ebele (199-2000) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. STB Le Havre's coach Fabrice Courcier allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Brahim Dohou (194-1999) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Anthony Da Silva (185-2001) scored 19 points and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. STB Le Havre will meet Avignon/Pontet on the road in the next round. Besancon will play against Hyeres-Toulon and hope to win that game.
