Regular Season Round 3: Lorient - Challans 65-75

But Lorient was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Challans 75-65 on Saturday night. It was a great shooting night for Vendee Challans especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American-South Korean forward Du'Vaughn Maxwell (201-1991, college: Hampton) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Paul Turpin (192-1993) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Senegalese power forward Papa Beye (202-1990) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and guard Matthieu Robin (184-1992) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Lorient in the defeat. Lorient's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vendee Challans will meet at home Rueil (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lorient will play against Lourdes-Tarbes (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
