There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Pardubice (2-2) lost on the road to seventh ranked Novy Jicin (2-2) 84-73 on Friday. The winners were led by the former international center Vaclav Bujnoch (200-1993, college: Des Moines A.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Matej Snopek (195-2000) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by guard Adam Lukes (191-2004) did not help to save the game for Pardubice. Guard Adam Mikulas (175-2004) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Novy Jicin moved-up to third place, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Pardubice. Novy Jicin will meet Prostejov (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Pardubice will play against Ostrava (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
