Regular Season Round 2: Bayreuth - Koblenz 97-72

There was a minor upset when Koblenz was rolled over on the road by Bayreuth 97-72 on Saturday. Bayreuth outrebounded Koblenz 40-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Swiss guard Selim Fofana (193-1999) who scored 17 points and 8 assists. American guard Shane Gatling (188-1998, college: Colorado) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Worth to mention Gatling played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Center Moses Poelking (206-1997) produced 19 points and American guard Robert Hall III (193-1995, college: Cameron, agency: Blacktop Management) added 12 points and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bayreuth will meet Duesseldorf on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koblenz will play against 46ers in Giessen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
