Regular Season Round 2: Torrent - Tabernes 64-81

There was a minor upset when Torrent lost at home to Tabernes 81-64 on Saturday. Tabernes forced 21 Torrent turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Power forward Yexian Rubio (197-1986) notched 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Daniel Perez (187-2001) supported him with 19 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Tabernes players scored in double figures. Even 8 points and 13 rebounds by center Lucas Blasco (197-1998) did not help to save the game for Torrent. Forward David Calero (193-1999) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tabernes will meet at home Picken Claret in the next round where they are favorite. Torrent will have a break next round.
