Regular Season Round 2: Carolinas - Elche 48-68

There was an upset when Carolinas was outscored by Elche in La Carolina 68-48 on Saturday. Guard Raul Timoner (185-1997, college: Rio Grande) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and Senegalese forward Talla Niang (200-2002) supported him with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Even 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by forward Nicolas Martinez (192-2001) did not help to save the game for Carolinas. Beninese forward Nathan Cledjo (198-2000) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Elche will meet Jorge Juan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Carolinas will play against Benidorm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
