There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Slavia (2-3) beat higher ranked Decin (2-3) in Praha 80-76 on Saturday. Slavia made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. American forward Lesley Varner Jr (201-1998, college: UTRGV, agency: Helping Ballers) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and guard Radek Pumprla (193-1995) accounted for 8 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. American point guard AJ Walton (188-1990, college: Baylor, agency: Diamond Sports) came up with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international forward Matej Svoboda (200-1996, college: Dayton) added 16 points respectively for Decin in the defeat. Four Decin players scored in double figures. Slavia moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Decin. Slavia will meet bottom-ranked NH Ostrava (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Decin will play against USK Praha (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
