Regular Season Round 4: Mechelen - Aalst 91-84

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Okapi Aalst (0-4) lost to eighth ranked Kangoeroes (2-2) in Mechelen 84-91 on Saturday. The winners were led by DR Congolese-Belgian Wen Boss Mukubu (198-1983, college: UAB) who scored that evening 23 points and Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (193-1991) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists. Kangoeroes' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-1986) did not help to save the game for Okapi Aalst. American point guard Trevor Blondin (193-1996, college: Seton Hill) added 20 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Kangoeroes went down to fifteenth position due to points difference, which they share with Kortrijk and Liege. Loser Okapi Aalst still closes the standings with four games lost. Kangoeroes will meet higher ranked Limburg United (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Okapi Aalst will play against Circus Brussels (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
