Everything went according to plan when Leverkusen (3-0) edged on the road Wolmirstedt (1-2) 93-92 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American point guard Trey McBride (188-1997, college: Northwood) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Marius Stoll (197-1999) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Leverkusen's coach Hans-Juergen Gnad used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Martin Bogdanov (186-1992) who recorded 23 points and 8 assists and Lithuanian power forward Modestas Paulauskas (211-1995) added 20 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Five Leverkusen and four Wolmirstedt players scored in double figures. Leverkusen will meet at home Seawolves 2 (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Wolmirstedt will play against Herford (#4) and hope to win that game.
