Regular Season Round 5: Tygri Brno - Opava 84-98

The most interesting game of round 5 in the U19 League was a home defeat of 3rd placed Tygri Brno (3-2) to second ranked Opava (4-1) 98-84 in the game for the second place. It ended the three-game winning streak of Tygri Brno. Opava shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 65.0 percentage. Guard Jachym Henzl (172-2005) stepped up and scored 29 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners and point guard Lukas Scholz (161-2005) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Opava's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Josef Gale (193-2005) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Patrik Nemec (198-2005) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Opava and four Tygri Brno players scored in double figures. Opava maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader GBA Lions. Tygri Brno at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Opava are looking forward to face Pelhrimov (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tygri Brno will play against Snakes (#8) in Ostrava and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
