Very important is a road loss of Fenerbahce against Pinar Karsiyaka on Monday night. Visiting Fenerbahce was defeated by Pinar Karsiyaka in a tough game in Izmir 79-84. Pinar Karsiyaka looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Errick McCollum (188-1988, college: Goshen) notched 15 points and 9 assists to lead the effort and the former international point guard Kenan Sipahi (197-1995) supported him with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Pinar Karsiyaka's coach Ufuk Sarica used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) by American center Johnathan Motley (208-1995, college: Baylor) did not help to save the game for Fenerbahce. Israeli point guard Yam Madar (190-2000) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the guests. Pinar Karsiyaka will meet Efes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fenerbahce's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Acibadem.
