Everything went according to plan in Essen where third ranked ETB Miners (5-1) outscored 10th ranked Recklinghausen (2-5) 109-83 on Saturday. They outrebounded Recklinghausen 40-27 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. ETB Miners looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Dzemal Selimovic (205-1999) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). American point guard Bryant Allen (183-1990, college: Dakota St.) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four ETB Miners players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Zachary Hinton (201-1994, college: Rocky Mountain) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds and Lennard Kaprolat (187-2002) added 5 points and 7 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ETB Miners moved-up to second place, which they share with Hagen-Haspe. Loser Recklinghausen keeps the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Leverkusen 2. ETB Miners will meet Bonn 2 (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Recklinghausen will play against Hagen-Haspe and hope to secure a win.
