There was a minor upset when higher ranked Herford (2-2) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Wolmirstedt (2-2) 90-80 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Lennard Winter (195-2000) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Bill Borekambi (199-1992, college: Sequoias CC) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Wolmirstedt players scored in double figures. Wolmirstedt's coach Eiko Potthast used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side naturalized American Shawn Gulley (200-1993, college: Temple JC) responded with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Croatian center Jaksa Sola (202-1999) scored 23 points. Wolmirstedt moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 11 other teams including defeated Herford. Wolmirstedt will meet SSV Lok Bernau (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Herford will play against the league's leader Leverkusen (#1) and hope to secure a win.
