Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Zonguldak (4-0) outplayed at home 11th ranked Burhaniye (1-3) 82-50 on Sunday. Zonguldak dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Burhaniye's 36. They outrebounded Burhaniye 45-32 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zonguldak looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Burhaniye's players. The winners were led by American center Sasha Goodlett (195-1990, college: Georgia Tech) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and forward Deniz Aygul (186-1995) supported her with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 9 points by Yagmur Yildiz (172-2000) did not help to save the game for Burhaniye. Swingman Nihan Dabakoglu (175-1998) added 9 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zonguldak have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Ferhatoglu. Burhaniye at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Zonguldak will meet Yalova Vip (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
