Regular Season Round 5: Telsiai - Delikatesas 107-71

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Delikatesas (3-1) on the court of leader Telsiai on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by Telsiai 107-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Delikatesas. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Delikatesas 42-29 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Telsiai shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Telsiai's coach Povilas Sakinis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Nojus Jankunas (194-2001) answered with 9 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and American Darion Rackley (187-1992, college: Jax State) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Delikatesas. Telsiai have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Suduva-Mantinga. Delikatesas at the other side dropped to the sixth place with one game lost. Telsiai is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Rytas 2 (#14) in Vilnius in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Delikatesas will play at home against Jurbarkas (#3) and is hoping to win this game.
