Regular Season Round 4: Rivne - BIPA O. 86-52
Date: October 20, 2023
There was no surprise when 9th ranked BIPA O. (1-4) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Rivne (4-2) 86-52 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Rivne. BIPA O. managed to win third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BIPA O. to just 6 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. They outrebounded BIPA O. 47-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. Rivne looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by BIPA O.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Oleksii Soloviov (192-1997) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Elijah Joiner (190-1999, college: Iona) who added 11 points and 11 assists during the contest. Four Rivne players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Cameron Campbell (193, college: WSSU, agency: Interperformances) responded with 12 points and 5 assists and guard Yaroslav Kadygrob (195-1991, agency: BIG) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rivne moved-up to third place. BIPA O. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Rivne will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BIPA O. will play against Stariy Lutsk (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
