Regular Season Round 5: Neftyanik - Sparta&K MR 60-52

There was a surprise result in Omsk where eleventh ranked Neftyanik (1-3) defeated higher ranked Sparta&K MR (1-3) 60-52 on Saturday. Center Anna Pachurina (195-1995) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and swingman Darya Levchenko (182-1994) chipped in 11 points. Swingman Anna Kuznetsova (177-2001) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and forward Anna Pozdnyakova (180-2000) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neftyanik left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Sparta&K MR. Neftyanik will meet higher ranked Nadezhda (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sparta&K MR will play against Nika (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
