Regular Season Round 4: Pitesti - Sibiu 77-70

The biggest surprise took place in Pitesti where host Pitesti (4-1) beat league's leader Sibiu (3-1) 77-70 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sibiu. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Sibiu trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 23-13 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 70-77 at the end of the game. Serbian center Nikola Jevtovic (209-1989) fired 20 points for the winners. American guard Corey Allen-Williams (188-1998, college: Georgia St.) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Four Pitesti players scored in double figures. Australian guard Kyle Adnam (186-1993) produced 24 points and 4 assists and the former international center Rares Uta (211-1997) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Pitesti keeps a position of league leader. Sibiu at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Oradea and Rapid. They were replaced at the leadership position by Pitesti. Sibiu will play next round against strong Constanta trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Pitesti will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Craiova on the road.
