There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Recklinghausen (3-5) beat at home 3rd placed Hagen-Haspe (5-2) 87-70 on Saturday. Recklinghausen looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hagen-Haspe's players. American forward Zachary Hinton (201-1994, college: Rocky Mountain) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners. Bulgarian Rumen Vasilev (205-1996) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Recklinghausen players scored in double figures. American forward Jamel McAllister (201-1997, college: WSSU) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and Karl Dia (194-1996) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Recklinghausen maintains tenth place with 3-5 record. Loser Hagen-Haspe keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Grevenbroich.
