Regular Season Round 4: Honka - RaPy 80-69

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Honka as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Honka defeated 7th ranked RaPy in Espoo 80-69. The game was mostly controlled by Honka. RaPy managed to win third quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Honka forced 19 RaPy turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Carl Lindbom (206-1991, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Riku Korhonen (195-2004) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Honka players scored in double figures. The former international center Mika Nuolivirta (210-1994, college: CSU-Pueblo) replied with 19 points and forward Tuomo Aalto (190) added 6 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for RaPy. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Honka have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with JBA and Raiders Basket. Newly promoted RaPy dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with ToPo Juniorit. RaPy will play next round against HBA-Marsky trying to get back on the winning streak. Honka will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked JBA in Jyvaskyla.
