Regular Season Round 7: Lorient - Les Sables 77-104

There was an upset when higher ranked Lorient (2-5) was outplayed at home by fourteenth ranked Les Sables (1-6) 104-77 on Friday. Les Sables looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized Congolese Jean-Michel Mipoka (198-1985) fired 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Louis Prolhac (177-1991) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Point guard Hugo Suhard (184-1992) produced 14 points and 8 assists and Senegalese power forward Papa Beye (202-1990) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Les Sables and four Lorient players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Les Sables left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with Berck. Lorient at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Les Sables will meet at home higher ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lorient will play against the league's second-placed Tours (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
