Regular Season Round 3: Targu Mures 2 - Cluj CSU 86-104

There was no surprise when Targu Mures 2 (1-2) was defeated at home by Cluj CSU (4-0) 104-86 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Cluj CSU. Targu Mures 2 managed to win third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cluj CSU dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Targu Mures 2's 42. Cluj CSU forced 19 Targu Mures 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 54-43 including 23 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Toma Lungoci (193-2002) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Center Mihnea-Tudor Brie (196-2001) helped adding 24 points and 16 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Botond Szilveszter (193-2002) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and Rolland Kiss (-2006) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Targu Mures 2's coach Peter Farago rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Cluj CSU will meet at home Voluntari 2 (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Targu Mures 2 will play against ACS Bucuresti and hope to win that game.
