Regular Season Round 6: Kosice - Samorin 66-72

Very significant was Samorin's (#6) 72-66 road victory against 5th ranked Kosice. They outrebounded Kosice 39-23 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Samorin players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Simona Marcova (182-1994) notched 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and Maria Vondryskova supported her with 23 points. Even 23 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals by Lucia Kasperanova (175-1998) did not help to save the game for Kosice. Alexandra Moncekova (189-1997) added 20 points and 7 rebounds. Samorin (3-3) moved-up to fifth place. Kosice lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Samorin will play against higher ranked Young Angels (#4) in Kosice in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kosice will play on the road against the league's leader Piestanske C. in Piestany and hopes to get back on the winning track.
