Regular Season Round 3: Ploiesti CSM 2 - CSU ASE 82-78

There was an upset when CSU ASE (2-1) was defeated on the road by Ploiesti CSM 2 (1-2) 82-78 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 21-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for center George Angelian (202) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Codrut-Alexander Dinu (187-2007) helped adding 21 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Wilhelm Brosser (200-1996) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Marc Mitrica (182-2004) scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Four CSU ASE players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ploiesti CSM 2 will meet Constanta 2 (#8) on the road in the next round. CSU ASE will play against Gheorgheni (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
