Regular Season Round 6: Chalons-Reims - Evreux 80-76

There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Chalons-Reims (2-4) defeated at home higher ranked ALM Evreux (2-4) 80-76 on Saturday. Chalons-Reims forced 19 ALM Evreux turnovers. Strangely ALM Evreux outrebounded Chalons-Reims 38-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Mathis Keita (192-1992, college: IUP) who scored 10 points and 8 assists. American point guard Marquis Jackson (183-1994, college: Ohio Christian) chipped in 14 points. Four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Romain Parmentelot (190-2004) who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Dorian Angloma (187-2003) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Chalons-Reims moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated ALM Evreux. Chalons-Reims will meet higher ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ALM Evreux will play against Provence Basket in Fos-sur-Mer and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
