Very important is a home loss of third rankedSibiu (4-3) against sixth ranked Ploiesti CSM (3-4) on Sunday night. Host Sibiu was defeated by Ploiesti CSM in a tough game in Sibiu 72-80 . The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-72. Ploiesti CSM made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Ploiesti CSM outrebounded Sibiu 38-24 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American Kenney Funderburk (193-1992, college: Columbus St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Reginald Johnson (187-1994, college: Hampton, agency: Helping Ballers) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Ploiesti CSM's coach Mihai Popa used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Senegalese forward Mouhamed Barro (204) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Bulgarian Pavlin Ivanov (196-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Four Sibiu players scored in double figures. Ploiesti CSM moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Timisoara and Constanta. Loser Sibiu keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Targu Mures.
