Not a big story in a game when 9th rankedFocsani (1-7) was edged at home by third ranked Sibiu (5-3) 73-70 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 39-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by the former international center Rares Uta (211-1997) who scored that evening 18 points and 9 rebounds and Bulgarian Pavlin Ivanov (196-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 18 points. Even 9 points and 13 rebounds by Ukrainian center Konstantin Anikenko (218-1992, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Focsani . Focsani's coach Mihai Petrut tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sibiu maintains third position with 5-3 record having just two points less than leader Cluj Napoca, which they share with Brasov. Focsani lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Galati.
