There was no surprise when 18th rankedAnkaragucu (1-11) lost at home to fourth ranked Gaziantep (9-3) 96-85 on Monday. Gaziantep made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Gaziantep outrebounded Ankaragucu 41-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. Gaziantep looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The winners were led by guard Koray Cekici (186-2002) who scored that evening 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Dusan Cantekin (221-1990) supported him with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Gaziantep players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by American center Justin Briggs (208-1997, college: Chico St.) did not help to save the game for Ankaragucu . Forward Burak Selen (202-1988) added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gaziantep have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Mersin. Ankaragucu lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost.
