There was no surprise when 7th rankedVendee Challans (8-9) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Rueil (10-7) 94-81 on Friday. Rueil forced 23 Challans turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Greek point guard Rafail Lanaras (196-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Elian Benitez (180-2003) chipped in 15 points and 8 assists. Five Rueil players scored in double figures. American forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) produced 21 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and Bahamas forward Radshad Davis (195-1996, college: FIU) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Rueil have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 10-7 record, which they share with Rennes and Loon-Plage. Challans lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with 6 other teams.
