Sixteenth-rankedSamsun (2-10) gave a tough game to second ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (9-3). The visitors from Izmir managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80 . However their fans expected much easier game. Pinar Karsiyaka players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by American center Vernon Carey Jr (206-2001, college: Duke) who scored that evening 17 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import Darrun Hilliard (198-1993, college: Villanova) supported him with 15 points and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Pinar Karsiyaka's coach Ufuk Sarica allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 23 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) by Jamaican-American guard Sek Henry (193-1987, college: Nebraska) did not help to save the game for Samsunspor . American guard Bryant Crawford (191-1997, college: Wake Forest) added 11 points and 11 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pinar Karsiyaka have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-3 record behind leader Anadolu Efes, which they share with Fenerbahce and Besiktas. Newly promoted Samsunspor stay at the bottom place with ten games lost.
