Regular Season Round 12: Zamora - Alcala 100-70

Not a big story in a game when 10th rankedAlcala (5-7) was rolled over on the road by first ranked Zamora (11-1) 100-70 on Saturday. Zamora forced 24 Alcala turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 52.9 percentage. Zamora looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Jamaican guard Jahvaughn Powell (183-1996, college: Nicholls St., agency: Helping Ballers) who scored 27 points and 5 assists. Guard Josep Peris (192-2000) chipped in 18 points and 7 assists. Four Zamora players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican Jhery Matos (196-1996, college: Charlotte) who recorded 22 points and Trinidad and Tobago Imru Duke (203-1999) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Alcala's coach Andres Miso gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Zamora have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record, which they share with Cartagena. Alcala lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Zamora will meet league's second-placed Huelva CD on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alcala will play against Iraurgi SB (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
