Very important is a road loss of third rankedBesiktas (9-4) against thirteenth ranked Galatasaray (5-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Besiktas was defeated by Galatasaray in a tough game in Istanbul 83-89 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Besiktas. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Slovenian Klemen Prepelic (191-1992) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 assists for the winners and American center David McCormack (208-1999, college: Kansas) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). At the losing side Dominican Angel Delgado (208-1994, college: Seton Hall) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Matt Mitchell (198-1999, college: SDSU) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. Besiktas' coach Dusan Alimpijevic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Galatasaray maintains thirteenth place with 5-8 record. Loser Besiktas dropped to the fourth position with four games lost.
